Naomi Okuya was born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1930. He is a graduate of the Kanazawa College of Art. Okuya lived in Paris from 1965–1982. In 1965, he began to participate in the Biennale de Paris, and from there displayed his works at international art exhibitions and print exhibitions throughout Europe.
